Survey: Retailers focusing on mobile site optimization and in-store technologies DENVER, Colo. — Retailers remain conservative when it comes to financial investments in mobile and tablet initiatives despite the industry buzz, according to a survey by and Forrester Research. In the "2012 State Of Retailing Online" survey, 50% of the retailers surveyed said they spent less than $100,000 on smartphone investments in 2011, and 74% spent the same on tablet initiatives. Hoteliers’ marketing effort gives focus on mobile site Hoteliers are more interested in mobile site development than any other aspect of mobile marketing, according to a recent pulse poll.   Owning a mobile site became a top preference for hoteliers with 60% of them wanted it for their mobile marketing initiatives, as compared to mobile apps which constituted 30% of the poll only. This percentage is equivalent to two-thirds of those surveyed, while less than one-third of preference went to that of mobile apps. A combined 10% of those surveyed were interested to mobile banner advertising (5%), which came third on rank, and were followed by mobile analytics (2%) at fourth spot. Nokia took a lead in Sri Lanka’s mobile market overtaking Samsung in an overall market share of 46% - 22%. As the first in Asia to embrace into 3G services in 2006, report said that Sri Lanka is poised to shape a significant growth in its telecommunication sector.
